Academic editing

I am an experienced academic editor with a keen eye for detail and in-depth knowledge of APA Style. I am a Canadian English speaker but work primarily in US and UK English. My main academic editing clients are:

  • Certified General Accountants Association of Canada (2007–2008): I managed a team of editors for a suite of online learning courses leading to a nationally recognized professional designation. My responsibilities included editing and review of curriculum materials, editorial sign-off, and quality assurance.
  • Editage (2009–2018): Through this agency, I edited hundreds of papers written by non-native English speakers to prepare them for submission to academic journals. The work included formatting references according to journal guidelines. I worked mainly within the Business and Finance team, but also edited papers in the social sciences.
Client testimonial: “Christina consistently delivers excellent quality edits. She has an uncanny knack of making the right amount of changes to an edit to improve readability while retaining the author’s original style and voice.”
  • InfoMine (2014–2015): I edited the full conference proceedings (papers and abstracts) for two mining conferences.
Client testimonial: “I needed to get ready for publication a large quantity of highly technical academic articles, all written by non-English speakers … I turned to Christina, and she was a life saver. She did an outstanding job on the editing and the formatting, getting some very rough material ready for publication in record time.”
  • Scribbr (2019–2021): This agency work covered a broad range of subjects. Assignments included both pre-submission and post-revision editing.

I also work directly with individual academics to prepare their work for submission to journals, or for publication in edited books.

Other past editing clients include Certified Professional Accountants Canada, the City of Surrey, the Community Social Services Employers Association of BC, Harley-Davidson Canada, and the World Police & Fire Games.
